For the students at colleges of technology, improving their English proficiency and gaining higher scores in the TOEIC® test are becoming more and more important, because more and more companies are requiring their engineers to be proficient in English. This paper reports an attempt to improve the students' English proficiency and thus the TOEIC® test scores by utilizing e-learning courseware called "ALC NetAcademy" in an English course. The results show that the students, after taking the course, gained their TOEIC® IP test score by 60 points on average. Possible causes of the increase in the score were analyzed. |
