目的は，セルフマネジメントが必要な成人期の慢性疾患を抱える模擬患者とのコミュニケーションにおいて学生が感じた難しさと学びを明らかにし，教育指導の方向性を得ることである。質問紙調査を実施し，単純集計と学生の自由記述を内容分析の手法で分析した。難しさは，【対人関係の発展に必要な基本的態度を成立させること】【積極的傾聴を行うこと】【初対面の患者と話すこと】【自分に自信を持つこと】【自分主導のコミュニケーションを回避すること】【会話の中で起こった出来事に柔軟な対処をすること】であった。学びは，《対人関係を発展させるための基本的なコミュニケーション技術の体得》《積極的傾聴の技術の重要性》《自分らしさを大切にすること》《慢性疾患を抱える患者のエンパワーメントのプロセスを支えること》であった。教育指導の方向性として1) 看護職者としてのコミュニケーション技術の体得を促す2) 慢性期看護に必要な概念の知識定着を促すことが重要である。

The purpose was to find the direction of educational training by clarifying the difficulties and learning that were felt
by the students in communication with simulated patients in the role of adult patients of chronic diseases requiring selfmanagement. A survey form which the researcher created was used. The survey consisted of simple tabulation and free description by the students, which were analyzed by the method of content analysis. The difficulties included fundamental attitude required for development of interpersonal relationships, active listening, talking with patients on first meeting, having confi dence in themselves, avoiding self-centered communication and fl exibly coping with happenings occurring in conversations. Students’ learning included acquisition of basic communication skills to develop interpersonal relationships, the importance of the skill of active listening, supporting the empowerment process for patients with a chronic disease, and valuing being themselves. In the direction of educational training, it is important to promote 1) acquisition of the communication skills required for nursing staff and 2) familiarization with the knowledge of the concepts necessary for nursing chronic illnesses and conditions.
