本研究の目的は，ドイツの大学においてソーシャルワーカーを目指す学生の福祉意識を調べることにあった。方法としては，質問紙方法が実施された。その結果，132 名から回答を得ることができた。学生は，「他の人を助けたい」「ソーシャルワークの資格が魅力的である」といった理由からソーシャルワークの職業を選択していた。学生は，大学の授業や実習教育に満足をしていた。学生は，ドイツの社会福祉が海外の社会福祉の影響を受けていると認識していたが，海外の社会福祉施設での実習を希望していなかった。ドイツ国内の社会的問題としては，児童虐待と不安定な年金問題を問題として感じていた。ドイツのソーシャルワークを学ぶ学生達は，ソーシャルワーカーの社会的評価は低いと感じながらも，ソーシャルワークの仕事を通して自己成長できると考えていた。

The purpose of this study was to clarify welfare awareness of the students aiming to become social workers in a German university through a questionnaire. 132 students responded. Most of them answered the reason for the selection of the profession of social work, “I want to help others,” or “qualified social work is attractive.” Students were satisfied with the training and education in the university. However, they felt the work of social workers was not recognized socially, and the salary was also not enough. Also, they were aware of the infl uence of other countries’ social welfare on German social welfare, but did not wish to do fi eldwork in social welfare institutions in other countries. As social problems in Germany, they saw unstable pensions and child abuse as problems. The students see the potential of self-growth through the work of social work, even while feeling the social evaluation of social workers is low.
