"本研究の目的は，社会福祉教育の中で重要視されてきた「自己覚知」の概念を整理し，その意味内容を構造化し，ソーシャルワーク実践における「自己覚知」の機能について確認することである。「自己覚知」という概念定義はゆらいでいることから，「自己覚知」を扱った諸論文や研究事例をふまえ，定義の構造化とその機能を検討した。自己覚知を扱った諸論文を検討した結果，「基本の枠組み」，「多面的解釈」，「意識変化」，「個人的自己と専門職的自己覚知」，「スキル」という5 つの下位概念が抽出された。このうち，「基本の枠組み」と「多面的解釈」は自己覚知のベースにあるものと考えられる．そのほかの3 概念については，先行研究から概念に対応する自己覚知の肯定的機能の事例との対応が検討できた。結果として，「意識変化」，「スキル」，「個人的自己と専門職的自己覚知」の3 概念については，スパイラル状の関連性を持ち，自己覚知を定義づける上で重要な要素であることが明らかになった。"

"The purpose of this study is to organize the concept and structure of the meaning of “self-awareness.” This is to put the function of self-awareness on a　solid footing in social work practice. The concept of self-awareness is very important in social welfare education; however, its definition is unclear.　Therefore, this study considers the definitions and functions of　self-awareness on the basis or theses and previous studies. As a result of the study, five concepts are identified. These are “basic frame.” “various explanations,” “change of thinking,” “the professional and personal self,” and “skill,”. “Various explanations” and “basic frame” are considered to be the basis of self-awareness. Other concepts were considered to correspond to the positive function of self-awareness in the cases described in previous studies. Finally, three concepts––　“change of thinking,” “the professional and personal self,” and “skill”– draw the relation of spiral-like structure and they are established as the important elements of how self-awareness is defined."
