"本研究の目的は，文献レビューの方法を通して，大学における国際交流の実践と成果を検証することにある。大学における短期海外研修を通した国際交流の実践は①語学・異文化体験を目的とした短期海外研修，②専門的交流（保健福祉領域）を目的とした短期海外研修の2 種類に分けられる。①語学・異文化体験を目的とした短期海外研修では，主に英語の授業の参加，ホームステイなど，②専門的交流（保健福祉領域）を目的とした短期海外研修では，海外の看護や理学療法などの保健福祉領域の学生との交流，病院，施設などの見学プログラムであった。これらの国際交流を通して，学生に言語能力・学習意欲の向上，異文化への理解と順応，滞在国へのイメージの改善などの効果が見られたことがアンケート調査などを通して示された。そして，今後も，世界の安定と平和の貢献，学生への教育向上のために，大学における国際交流の重要性が指摘された。"

"The purpose of this study is to verify the practices and educational effects of international exchanges in Japanese universities through a literature review. The international exchanges that took place in the past in Japanese universities were divided into two types of overseas short-term training : one was for the purpose of language training and cross-cultural experience ; and the other was for professional exchanges in the fields of health and welfare. In the short-term overseas training for the purpose of language training and cross-cultural experience, the programs included mainly participation in English language classes and home-stays. In the overseas short-term training for the purpose of professional exchanges in the fields of health and welfare, the programs included exchanges with local students majoring in health and welfare, such as nursing and physical herapy, with visits to hospitals and health-related facilities. The research questionnaire surveys revealed that the students who participated in those short-term overseas training programs showed improvement in language skills and a willingness to learn; an adaptation of, and understanding toward, the different cultures; and improved overall opinions of the countries they visited. The importance of international exchanges in universities is the improved educational performance of students and its contribution toward world peace and stability."
