本研究の目的は,関節可動域制限の発生時期を特定することである。実験動物にはWistar系ラット雌15匹を用いた。それらを関節の固定期間により2日固定群,3日固定群,4日固定群に各5匹を割り当てた。結果は,固定前の足関節背屈角度には各群間で有意差を認めなかった。固定後の足関節背屈角度は全ての群において固定前より有意に高値を示した。また,2日固定群と3日固定群,2日固定群と4日固定群の問には有意差を認めたが,3日固定群と4日固定群の間には有意差を認めなかった。今回の結果から関節可動域制限は固定後2日で発生していることがわかった。さらに固定後1日でも発生する可能性が示唆された。今後は,1週間以内で発生する関節可動域制限の制限因子について形態学的,組織学的,生化学的に検討する必要があると思われる。

The purpose of this study was to determine the shortest immovable period for a range of motion limitation to occur. Fifteen female Wister rats were divided into three groups: immobilization for two days, three days and four days. The joint angle was measured on the first and last days of the experiment. Significant differences were not found for the first day for each group. However, significant differences were found between the three groups for the last day, as compared with the first day. In addition, significant differences were found between immobilization for two days and three days and for three days and four days. We found that a change took place in the joint angle even after immobilization for just two days. We believe that morphologic, histologic, and biochemical changes caused the limitation. At which time and how each factor affects the change are subjects for further research.
