ソロモンが論じて以来,ソーシャルワークにおいてエンパワーメントに関する研究は盛んに行われている。その広盛ぶりにかかわらず,研究についての基礎となる明確な定義が確立していないといわれている。しかし,主体自身への内部に向けた動きとその外部に向けた動きとまとめることができる。特に重要とされるのは外部への動きである。どのようにすれば外部への動きとなるのか,その技法を検討することが本論文の課題である。そのために障害者団体が実施していたプログラムを素材にしてどのような技法があるのかを検討した。その結果,障害者としての主体化を図ること,不満や楽しみといったことにより動機付けを高めること,物事を解釈する枠組みを提示することといった技法が明らかとなるであろう。しかし,このような技法だけでエンパワーメントが成功するわけではない。それらに加え,社会環境の整備といったことも同時に必要とされているのである。

Studies about empowerment have been done in social work since Solomon discussed it. Nevertheless, it is said that a clear and basic definition has not been established. However, it can be suggested that empowerment includes self-affirmation and the ability to develop one's outside world. The latter is important for considering empowerment. The purpose of this article was to examine what techniques are effective for empowering disabled people. Therefore, the author examined what kinds of techniques are available by using a program provided by the organization of disabled people. The elements include: defining disabled people, raising an incentive through relative deprivation and pleasure, and providing a theoretical framework. However, empowerment does not succeed if there are no such techniques. In addition, social environmental reform is needed at the same time.
