選択科目「痴呆性障害看護特論」の講義に自己主導型学習法を活用した実習を組み入れた。この研究では,認知症高齢者援助技術取得についての自己主導型学習法の効果を明らかにする。実習協力施設において,学生が自ら設定した目標をもって認知症高齢者にグループで援助を実践し,その結果を振り返り,より適切な援助を学ぶことを意図して実施した。学生の目標は,全員が「コミュニケーションの方法」「活性化援助」であり数名は「日常生活援助」をあげていた。学生の自己評価は「コミュニケーションの方法」「活性化援助」はほぼ達成できたが,どの高齢者にも実践できるまでにいたっていないと記載していた。また,「日常生活援助」の実践機会がなかったことを課題としてあげていた。4年後期の時期に,学生の主体性を生かしたグループでの学習方法は,学生間の相互作用も活用でき,認知症高齢者援助を学習する機会を設定することで,より具体的な方法を学ぶことにつながることが示唆された。

In the elective subject entitled "Special Course on Nursing Elderly Patients with Dementia", we included a new placement for clinical practice incorporating the methodology of self-directed learning. The aim was to have groups of students establish their own goals for supporting elderly patients with dementia, evaluate the outcome of their support, and consider possibly more appropriate methods. With regards to methods of support, all the students chose "communication method" and "activity support". The students' self-evaluations showed that they were mostly able to apply "communication method" and "activity support", but not for all of the elderly patients. With regard to "Daily Life Support", a problem arose in that the students found they had little opportunity to put this method into practice. Our overall conclusion is that the students benefited from this more practical approach which, building on the learner autonomy they had developed by the second semester of their fourth year, facilitated interaction amongst students, and also provided them with an opportunity to learn directly about support for elderly patients with dementia.
