本研究の目的は, 本学看護学生の老人のイメージとその構造を明らかにし, 看護学生がより肯定的な老人のイメージを持つことができる授業案及び教材の選定を行なうことである。研究方法は, 本学1年生の看護学生91名を対象に, 佐藤らの考案した「老人に対するイメージ用語49項目」を用いて看護学生の持つ老人のイメージを測定した。その結果, 「あたたかな」, 「親切な」, 「深みのある」といったイメージを持っているにもかかわらず, 否定的なイメージを持つものが多かった。老人の肯定的なイメージを育てるためには, 入浴時に高齢者のボランティアが入所者の更衣を手伝う様子, 又自主的に洗濯物を片付けている様子を意識づけることの必要性が示唆された。

The purpose of this study is to clarify the image of the elderly that nursing students have at this college and to plan the syllabuses and teaching materials to let them have more positive image for the elderly. As a method, Sato's Scale, 49 items including words for images of the elderly was used. The subjects were 91 nursing students at this college. The results showed that most nursing students had negative images, even though they felt the elderly to be positive image as items "warm", "kind", "depth". It was suggested that to let nursing students recognize the scenes in which the elderly volunteer in the community were helping the elderly to wear, or tidy their colthes up voluntarily when they took a bath, would enhance their positive images of the elderly.
