精神薄弱者授産施設に通所する知的障害者52名を対象に, 自閉性障害の有無, 動作性知能, 社会適応能力を評価して特徴を明らかにし, 施設の指導員が主に作業能力で分類した2グループの所属との関係を検証した。自閉性障害が認められなかった36名は, 動作性知的能力が4才以下の群と, 5才以上の群が, それぞれのグループに対応した。自閉性障害の認められた16名は, 動作性知的能力による群には関連づけられなかった。社会適応能力からは2グループ間の特徴を明確には検出できなかった。各グループへの所属は自閉性障害の有無と動作性知的能力により特徴づけられた。

This paper presents the results of research done at a facility, where 52 persons with developmental disabilities. Our research concerned their autistic disorders, non-verbal intellectual abilities and social adaptation skills. They are usually divided into two groups by the staffs in the sheltered workshop in accordance with their work abilities. We divided them into the following two groups for research purposes : one group of subjects with autistic disorder, and the other group with non-verbal intellectual disabilities. The thirty-six persons with no autistic disorders matched the work group division on non-verbal intellectual abilities on two levels ; below a four-year-old's intellectual abilities and more than a five-years-old's abilities. Those with autistic disorders were found to have no matching with the group done by the staffs on non-verbal intellectual abilities. We could not show a significant correlation for social adaptation between the two groups. Each group was clearly separated by the presence or nonpresence of autistic disorders and the level of non-verbal intellectual abilities.
