障害者が当市で社会生活をする際のニーズを探るために, やっさ祭り終了後「明日に架ける橋チーム」として踊りに参加した障害者, 家族, ボランティアを対象に調査を実施した。その結果, 物理的環境と社会的環境の二つの側面でニーズを捉えることができた。また, 障害の有無にかかわらず, 共に参加する機会をつくることの必要性が示唆された。

People with disabilities, their families, and volunteers who participated in local festival "Yassa Odori" as "Asuni Kakeru-Hashi" team were surveyed in order to find the needs for people with disabilities to participate in their community. The needs suggested from the survey were categorized physical and social environment. Further more, the results suggested that the needs to establish opportunities to be equal participants for all community members with/without disabilities.
