脊髄小脳変性症(SCA6)による失調性構音障害患者4名および健常者7名を対象に,口唇の交互反復運動検査を施行し,下唇の動作解析を行った。その結果,失調症例群では健常群に比べて,下唇の平均最大運動距離が有意に延長する一方,健常群に比べ下唇の平均最大運動速度は有意に速い傾向があった。失調症例においては運動調節機能の障害のために,下唇の運動速度が過剰に高速となったこと及び運動停止のタイミングの遅れにより,運動距離が顕著に延長された結果,交互反復運動速度が低下したことが示唆された。

The mechanism of decreased alternating motion rates in persons with ataxic dysarthria was investigated through a motion analysis technique. The subjects included four persons with ataxic dysarthria and seven normal persons. The maximum ranges of movement of the lower lip in the ataxic group were significantly more prolonged than those in the normal group. However, the maximum motion rates of the lower lip in the ataxic group were significantly higher than the rates of the normal group. It was suggested that the prolonged ranges of movement of the lower lip due to excessive motion rates and/or delayed timing of motion braking to change the direction of the movement resulted in decreased alternating motion rates in persons with ataxic dysarthria.
