就学前児に対して，同一課題文の読解と聴覚的理解を実施し，読解と聴覚的理解の関係には相関関係があった。短文レベルの読解可能な子どもでは読解得点より聴解得点が有意に高くなっているが，文章レベルの読解可能な子どもでは聴解得点と読解得点では有意差は無くなった。読解の初歩段階では，聴覚的理解が先に発達するが，文章レベルになると，聴覚的理解に読解が追いつくことが示された。読解レベルと聴覚的理解レベルの関係でみると，短文読解できない者では短文の聴覚的理解までが可能な者が多く，短文読解できる者では文章の聴覚的理解が可能な者が多くなった。就学前の子どもでは，長さに関わらず文を読解するには読みの速さ，聴覚的理解力，語彙理解力が関係することが分かった。読解力が育つには聴覚的理解力が関与し，聴覚的理解力を育てるには語彙理解力がその基盤として必要だと考えられた。

In preschool children, I examined reading comprehension and listening comprehension by the same subject. There was a significant correlation between reading comprehension and listening comprehension. Listening score became significantly higher than reading score for short sentence level. But there was not significant difference in reading and listening score for short writings. At the stage of the beginning of the reading, listening comprehension developed earlier than reading comprehension. But reading score caught up with listening score for long sentences. I understood that reading speed, listening comprehension, and vocabulary were related to reading comprehension regardless of the length of sentence for preschool children. There was a significant correlation between reading comprehension and listening comprehension. Vocabulary capability became the basis of listening comprehension.
