We surveyed the diachronic changes of language plans and policies in the Korean peninsula, and dealt with the current issues of the language plans in contemporary Korea and around Korean language usage area. In the modern-contemporary age, the keywords of language plans (policies) in the Korean peninsula could be stated as the obtaining of the independence and the autonomy in their language usage. Concerning the social phenomena that the conflicts between the generations are shifting to language-issue conflicts, therefore we need new standards of open norms and tolerances instead of the old systems. The language plans in Korea peninsula in the future should prevent social conflicts concerning the language usage.
