The present study was to investigate cause of disturbance of the diet refer to instinctive feeding behavior or diet habit.　The rats were fed three times per day four types of cafeteria system diets differ of nutritional composition.　Feeding patterns of rats were no sex difference and dependent on high fat / high protein diet and high fat / high sugar diet.　The time lowest food consumption was first half of the active phase, food consumption became higher with second half of the active phase.　By continuing this diet habit, we observed biochemistry index of blood and liver : increase body fat, depot liver fat, low serum albmin. Thus it is necessary for developing healthy diet habits to learn knowledge of controlling instinctive palatability, and this study suggested nutrition physiologic significance of diet education.
